Synopsis
Uchouten Kazoku is set in Kyoto, where tanuki, tengu, and humans coexist, though the humans are largely unaware of the supernatural creatures among them.
The story centers on the Shimogamo family, specifically Yasaburou, the third son, as they navigate their lives in this unusual society.
Yasaburou spends his days helping an old tengu and observing human behavior while also dealing with the enigmatic Benten.
Beneath the surface of everyday life lies a deep tragedy: the death of their father, who was the head of the tanuki community.
The anime follows the Shimogamo brothers as they try to avoid a similar fate while seeking the truth behind their father's demise, navigating the complexities of their world and the dangers that lurk within it.
