Synopsis
Kamichu! follows Yurie, a typical middle schooler in 1980s Japan, whose ordinary life takes a wildly unexpected turn.
One day, she casually declares she's become a goddess, throwing her world into comical chaos.
Her friend Matsuri sees this as an opportunity to revitalize her struggling family shrine, pushing Yurie into the role of a local deity.
Now, Yurie juggles the responsibilities of being a goddess – granting wishes and dealing with supernatural occurrences – with the everyday struggles of school and her unrequited crush on a boy named Kenji.
The series explores the humorous clash between the mundane and the divine as Yurie learns to navigate her newfound powers and the challenges they bring, all while trying to confess her feelings.
