Synopsis
Haibane Renmei tells the story of Rakka, a newly born Haibane – a being with wings and a halo – who finds herself in a mysterious walled town called Old Home.
She has no memories of her previous life and must learn to navigate the customs and rules of this new world, alongside other Haibane who are also grappling with amnesia.
As Rakka settles in, she uncovers the strange mysteries surrounding the Haibane, including the enigmatic Day of Flight and the secrets of the walls that confine them to Old Home.
The series explores themes of acceptance, redemption, and finding meaning in a life without memories, as Rakka and her companions search for a way to understand their existence and overcome the emotional burdens they carry.
