Synopsis
In the Taishou era, tanuki, magical creatures who can transform into humans, find their traditional trickery becoming obsolete due to technological advancements. A young tanuki named Mameda, determined to continue her father's legacy, travels to Osaka to fool humans.
Her initial attempts fail, leading her to an unexpected encounter with Bunko Daikokutei, a master of rakugo – a traditional Japanese storytelling art. Captivated by rakugo's power to captivate and deceive, Mameda seeks to become Bunko's apprentice.
