Synopsis
The Fable follows a legendary assassin known only as Fable, who is given an unusual assignment by his boss: to lay low in Osaka for a year and live as a normal person.
To avoid attracting unwanted attention, Fable must abstain from killing, a difficult task for someone trained to be a perfect killing machine.
Accompanied by his partner posing as his sister, Fable attempts to navigate the challenges of everyday life.
However, his peaceful hiatus is disrupted when a Yakuza leader in Osaka perceives him as a threat, leading to dangerous situations that force Fable to use his skills, but without resorting to lethal force, to survive and protect himself and his companion.
The anime explores the tension between Fable's innate nature as an assassin and his forced role as an ordinary civilian, as he tries to outmaneuver his enemies and maintain his new, non-violent existence.
