Fifteen years after a global catastrophe, humanity is under attack from mysterious, powerful beings known as Angels. The only defense lies with NERV, an organization developing giant bio-machines called Evangelions.
Young Shinji Ikari is summoned by his estranged father to Tokyo-3 and thrust into the role of an Evangelion pilot. He grapples with the psychological toll of piloting and the daunting task of protecting the city.
