Synopsis
Rikujou Bouei-tai Mao-chan is a lighthearted anime about a cheerful 8-year-old girl, Mao, who, despite being an ordinary grade-schooler, is tasked with defending Japan.
As the granddaughter of the Ground Defense Force's Chief of Staff, Mao and her two best friends, who are also granddaughters of important military figures, form a special defense unit.
Their mission? To combat an invasion of unbelievably cute aliens that the regular military can't handle due to their overwhelming adorableness. Mao uses her special badge, although it doesn't give her any actual superpowers, to transform and face these unusual threats alongside her friends.
