Synopsis
Maria-sama ga Miteru centers around Sachiko Ogasawara, a popular and seemingly perfect student at an all-girls school, Lillian Girls' Academy. She's burdened by her position and wants to avoid a mandatory dance with a boy.
To escape this obligation, Sachiko proposes finding a "petite sœur," a younger student to mentor. Much to everyone's surprise, her initial choice, Yumi Fukuzawa, rejects the offer.
A challenge is then set: if Sachiko can persuade Yumi to become her petite sœur, she can be released from the dance. The story then follows Sachiko's efforts to win over Yumi, despite her difficulties in connecting with others.
