Synopsis
Kujira no Kora wa Sajou ni Utau (Children of the Whales) is set in a unique world: a floating island called the Mud Whale adrift on a sea of sand.
The inhabitants, many of whom are "Marked" with special abilities but shorter lifespans, live a secluded and seemingly peaceful existence.
Chakuro, a young archivist, spends his days recording their discoveries of other deserted islands, finding only echoes of past civilizations.
When a new island appears for the first time in a long while, Chakuro and his friends venture out, and he discovers a mysterious girl.
This encounter is poised to disrupt their predictable lives and potentially change the fate of the Mud Whale forever.
