Synopsis
Hotaru, a children's book author, is deeply saddened by the loss of his beloved dog. He's struggling to cope and finds himself unable to write.
Suddenly, a strange mushroom creature that resembles a dog appears in his garden. He names it Kinoko Inu and takes it in.
Living with the unusual Kinoko Inu brings both chaos and a chance for Hotaru to confront his grief. He faces the challenge of caring for this new, mischievous companion while trying to overcome his writer's block.
The story explores how Hotaru learns to move forward and heal through his unexpected relationship with Kinoko Inu, much to the chagrin of his concerned friend and editor.
