In a world where robots called Labors are commonplace and used for various tasks, a new type of crime emerges involving these machines.
To combat this, police forces deploy their own Labors, known as Patlabors.
The story follows Noa Izumi, a rookie Patlabor pilot, as she joins a special unit and gets her own Labor, which she affectionately names Alphonse.
Alongside her teammates, Noa must learn to navigate the challenges of her job and protect the city from Labor-related threats, facing not only criminals but also complex conspiracies and unusual situations.
The anime explores Noa's growth as a police officer and her relationships with her colleagues as they work together to maintain peace and order in a society increasingly reliant on technology.
