Synopsis
Katsugeki/Touken Ranbu follows Izuminokami Kanesada and Horikawa Kunihiro, sword warriors from the future, who travel back to 1863 Japan to protect history from a time-traveling enemy called the Retrograde Army.
These warriors, who are actually the human forms of legendary swords, must team up with other sword warriors to fight this threat across the Bakumatsu period.
Their mission is complicated by the turbulent and bloody nature of the era they are trying to protect, forcing them to confront difficult choices as they battle to preserve history.
