Synopsis
Youji Itami, a member of the Japan Self-Defense Forces and a fan of anime and manga, finds himself caught in the middle of a sudden and violent invasion. A gate appears in Tokyo, unleashing creatures and warriors from another world.
Following the attack, Youji is assigned to lead a reconnaissance team into this new world, now called the "Special Region."
Their mission is to explore the unknown, learn about the people and culture of this land, and attempt to establish peaceful relations with the empire that rules it.
The team's success or failure will determine whether Japan and the Special Region can find a path to coexistence, or if they will be plunged into a devastating war.
