Synopsis
Dagashi Kashi centers on Kokonotsu Shikada, a young man with dreams of becoming a manga artist, who lives in the countryside and whose family has run a traditional Japanese candy shop, Shikada Dagashi, for generations.
His life takes an unexpected turn with the arrival of Hotaru Shidare, a quirky and passionate representative from a major confectionery company. She's there to convince Kokonotsu's father to join her family's business.
However, Kokonotsu's father proposes a deal: he'll only consider her offer if Hotaru can convince his son to embrace and inherit the family candy shop.
The anime then follows Hotaru's enthusiastic attempts to show Kokonotsu the wonders and joys of dagashi, hoping to inspire him to take over the family legacy.
