Synopsis
Basilisk: Kouga Ninpou Chou tells the story of two ninja clans, the Iga and the Kouga, who have a long and bloody history of conflict.
A fragile ceasefire, initiated by a powerful warlord, has brought a temporary peace, and a forbidden love blossoms between the heirs of each clan, Gennosuke and Oboro, who hope to unite their people through marriage.
However, the uneasy peace is shattered when a succession dispute arises within the ruling Tokugawa shogunate.
The two clans are forced to choose sides and engage in a deadly competition to determine the next shogun.
