Synopsis
Arata Kangatari follows two characters, both named Arata, who exist in vastly different worlds. One Arata lives in a fantastical world called Amawakuni, where he's forced to disguise himself as a woman to become the next princess. He's framed for a crime he didn't commit and forced to flee.
Simultaneously, in modern-day Japan, another Arata is bullied and seeks an escape from his life. A mysterious summons leads him to switch places with the Arata from Amawakuni, transporting him to this new, dangerous world.
The modern-day Arata discovers he possesses a unique power in Amawakuni, becoming a "Sho" capable of wielding god-like weapons. He teams up with new allies and embarks on a journey to bring balance and order back to this chaotic world he's now trapped in.
