Synopsis
Angel Beats! tells the story of Yuzuru Otonashi, a young man who wakes up in a strange afterlife that resembles a high school. He has no memory of his past life.
This afterlife is a place for those who died prematurely and harbor unresolved issues. A group called the Afterlife Battlefront, led by Yuri, is rebelling against what they perceive as the unfairness of their deaths.
They are fighting against Kanade "Angel" Tachibana, the student council president, whom they believe is an agent of God. Otonashi, unsure of which side is right, finds himself caught between the battlefront and Angel, trying to understand the truth of this bizarre world.
He grapples with the motivations of both sides, seeking to understand why they are fighting and what their ultimate goals are in this in-between realm.
