Synopsis
Akira is set in Neo-Tokyo, a city rebuilt after a devastating explosion decades prior. The story centers around Kaneda, the leader of a biker gang, and his friend Tetsuo.
Tetsuo gains incredible psychic powers after an encounter with an escaped esper, drawing the attention of the government, who are desperate to contain him and prevent another catastrophe.
