Synopsis
Kakeru, a collector of rare juice cans, discovers a can-girl named Melon after attempting to drink her. She's an "Akikan," a sentient can created as part of an experiment pitting steel cans against aluminum cans.
Melon, being a steel can, needs Kakeru's help to survive due to her CO2 dependency. This forces Kakeru to become involved in the Akikan battle.
Adding to the chaos, Kakeru's childhood friend, Najimi, also acquires her own aluminum Akikan, further complicating his already unusual life.
The story follows Kakeru as he navigates this bizarre situation, caught between can-girl battles and the affections of the girls around him, all while trying to understand the purpose behind the steel vs. aluminum experiment.
