Synopsis
Accel World follows Haruyuki, a bullied, overweight middle schooler who escapes into online gaming. His world changes when he discovers Kuroyukihime, the popular school vice president, has beaten all his high scores.
Kuroyukihime introduces him to "Brain Burst," a program that allows users to accelerate their thinking and enter a virtual fighting world. To continue using this ability, Haruyuki must battle other players in this augmented reality game.
He soon learns that Kuroyukihime has a specific goal: to reach the highest level in Brain Burst and uncover the program's true purpose. She needs Haruyuki's help to defeat powerful opponents standing in her way.
